Apple for Teacher Instructions Designed by Cynthia Kimura
It's back to school time for students and teachers. Show your favorite teacher your appreciation with this colorful necklace with an apple clasp.
Step one: Cut one length each of Beadalon® 7 .015 clear blue and clear red to approximately 29 inches. String a 24x32mm porcelain flat oval playtime porcelain bead over both wires and slide it to the middle of the strand. Put a 2x2mm sterling silver twisted crimp tube bead on either side of the bead and press flat with your chain nose pliers.
Step two: As you work up the necklace, leave one to two inches between beads, alternating from strand to strand, stringing each bead on only one strand. The pattern will be random, but you may want to lay it out first to make sure you like the color groupings. To add the beads, place a crimp tube just below where you would like the bead to lie in the necklace and flatten with your chain nose pliers. String the bead and top with another flattened crimp. Continue in this manner until all of the beads are strung.
Step three: String an 8mm sterling silver Smart Bead over both strands on each side of the necklace at the end of the wires. Crimp each strand individually to the toggle clasp and slide the Smart bead up to cover the crimp tubes.
