This romantic necklace combines soft blue and green shades with silver chain and an open heart pendant. A rectangle tag stamped with amour, the French word for love, rests at the center of the heart as the focal. Wear this necklace for a Valentine's Day event or make it for a friend.
Creating the pendant, charms and rhinestone link
Step one: Choose the letters a,m,o,u and r from the alphabet stamp set, along with the heart metal stamp. We stamped the heart onto the top right section of the sterling silver large rectangle tag charm, and let the word amour cascade down the left side. For detailed instructions on how to stamp metal, visit the Handy Tips section of the Learning Center. We chose the word amour, but you could choose another word or a name to personalize the design.
Step two: Attach the tag charm to the top loop of the 27mm heart outline pendant using a 1x6.1mm sterling silver open jump ring. For instructions on how to use a jump ring, watch the jump ring handy tip video in the Learning Center. Attach the pendant to the loop located underneath the center accent of the silver-plated pewter 3-strand multi-strand endpiece using a 1x6.1mm jump ring. Set the pendant aside.
Step three: Attach a 0.9x4.6mm sterling silver open jump ring to the sterling silver key to heart charm. Attach a second 0.9x4.6mm jump ring to the first one. Repeat step three for the sterling silver key charm. Set both key charms aside.
Step four: Attach 1x6.1mm jump rings to the holes of the Swarovski 3257 19mm divine rock sew-on rhinestone in Aquamarine. Set the rhinestone link aside.
Connecting everything together
Step five: Attach a 1x6.1mm jump ring to one piece of the antique sterling silver leaf hook and eye clasp. Cut an 11-inch piece of ZambaPro™ 49 .019 jewelry wire and attach it to the jump ring using a sterling 2x2mm crimp tube. Step six: String a Swarovski 5000 3mm faceted round in Olivine and a Swarovski 5328 4mm faceted bicone in Light Azure onto the jewelry wire. Repeat this pattern 24 more times for a total of 50 beads. String the second jump ring of both key charms onto the jewelry wire. String five more sets of Swarovski beads and one Olivine faceted round. Attach the strand you just created to one of the jump rings on the rhinestone link using a crimp tube.
Step seven: Cut a 4-inch piece of jewelry wire. Attach the wire to the other jump ring of the rhinestone link using a crimp tube. String an Olivine round, a Light Azure bicone, an Olivine round, a Light Azure bicone and an Olivine round.
Step eight: Lay the pendant face up on a flat surface. The multi-strand endpiece connected to the top of the pendant features a group of three loops on both sides. Attach the jewelry wire to the middle loop on the left side of the endpiece using a crimp tube.
Step nine: Cut a 9 1/2-inch piece of silver-plated 3 strand + 3 link chain, making sure that the locations where you cut the ends of the chain allow you to attach the chain to jump rings. Use a 0.9x4.6mm jump ring to attach one end of the chain to the middle loop on the right side of the endpiece. Use a 1x6.1mm jump ring to attach the other end of the chain to the remaining piece of the hook and eye clasp.
