Amber Shore Necklace Instructions Designed by Cynthia Kimura
Our Amber Shore design uses a bathing beauty link and a unique Swarovski drop pendant to create an imaginative necklace that will dress up your more casual attire. Wear it with a cream top for a look full of natural tones.
Step one: Create your silver bathing beauty link. Cut the square image from the bathing beauties collage sheet and coat it with Mod Podge or other sealer on both sides. Let it dry. Repeat for a second coat. Apply a coat of the same sealer to the silver-plated pewter mini square link. Place the coated image in the frame, apply a top coat to the image and let it dry again.
Step two: Make a batch of Ice Resin. Pour the resin into the frame to the frame's edge. Allow to dry. For detailed instructions and a helpful video on how to use Ice Resin, please visit the Handy Tips section of the Learning Center.
Step three: Position the sterling silver two-leaf bail over the holes on the Swarovski 6015A 21mm sand opal mosaic polygon drop pendant and close.
Step four: Cut the two-foot silver-plated beaded S chain into two pieces, one 18 1/4 inches and one 5 3/4 inches. Attach the loop of a 22 gauge 1 1/2-inch sterling silver eye pin to the last link of the long chain. On the remaining wire, thread a Swarovski 5328 6mm xilion light Colorado topaz bicone, a silver Kenyan heishi spacer, a topaz bicone, a spacer and a topaz bicone. Attach the end of the eye pin to the last link on the short chain using a simple loop, cutting of any excess wire. For detailed instructions on how to make a simple loop, please visit the Handy Tips section of the Learning Center.
Step five: Slide the drop pendant's bail over the chain you just attached. Attach the bottom loop of the bathing beauty link to the last link of the chain using a sterling silver 0.035 x .180 inch open jump ring. Making sure that the link and the pendant bail are facing the same direction. Use the remaining jump ring to attach the remaining chain end to the top of the bathing beauty link. All ends of the chain should now be attached to the necklace.
Step six: On a 2-inch 24 gauge head pin thread one spacer, one topaz bicone and one spacer. Form a wrapped loop with the head pin around the left side of a link in the chain that is one inch above the bathing beauty link. For help creating a wrapped loop, visit the Handy Tips section of the Learning Center. Thread the same order of spacers and beads on a second head pin. Form a wrapped loop with the head pin around the right side of the same link as the first head pin.
