Give the graduate in your life a gift that she'll treasure for years to come. This Alma Mater Bracelet features XILION crystal settings that can be customized to represent her school colors. The silver crimp tube covers in this design look like round silver beads and artfully conceal the joining of each link.
Step one: Thread a 1 1/2-inch eye pin through the holes on one side of the following settings: a Swarovski SS29 XILION silver-plated 2-holes setting in Amethyst, a Swarovski SS29 XILION silver-plated 2-holes setting in Topaz and an Amethyst setting. Finish the eye pin with a simple loop. For help making a simple loop, see our Handy Tip in the Learning Center. Thread another eye pin through the opposite holes of the settings and finish it with a simple loop. You have just created an Amethyst link. Create another link using the same pattern, and then create two Topaz links by reversing the color pattern of the settings.
Step two: Cut two 4-inch pieces of ZambaPro™ 49 .019 jewelry wire. Use 1x2mm sterling silver crimp tubes to attach one end of each wire to the simple loops on one end of an Amethyst link that you created in step one. For help with crimping, see our Handy Tip. Thread a sterling silver criss cross tube link onto both wires. Crimp the wire ends to the loops on a Topaz link.
Step three: Continue connecting the crystal links together with the criss cross links as you did in step two, resulting in the following pattern: an Amethyst setting link, a criss cross link, a Topaz setting link, a criss cross link, an Amethyst setting link, a criss cross link and a Topaz setting link.
Step four: Cut a 4-inch piece of ZambaPro™ wire and use a crimp tube to attach the wire to the two simple loops on the first Amethyst setting link. String three 3mm seamless sterling silver round beads onto the wire. Use a crimp tube to attach the wire to the 12mm round trigger clasp. Repeat this step for the other side of the bracelet, substituting a sterling silver fine closed jump ring for the clasp. Adjust the number of beads to suit your wrist size if necessary.
Step five: Cover each crimp tube in your design with a sterling silver 3mm crimp cover. For help using a crimp cover, see our Handy Tip.
