| We made this necklace as a birthday gift for Rebecca, one of our designers. It was inspired by one of Rebecca's favorites, the porcelain peacock feather, with its vivid blues, greens and purples. We added crystals, cubic zirconia and Czech glass and framed it with a beaded wire structure. The necklace is confident, feminine and vibrant just like Rebecca.
Note: The assembly starts at the bottom left hand corner of the pendant.
For the frame of the pendent we used a random mix of the following Toho beads: 8/0 deep plum-lined aqua, 8/0 matte Ceylon dark blue AB and 8/0 marbled lavender rose. To simplify the instructions, we refer to them as "mixed Tohos"
Step one: Cut five 2½ inch pieces of sterling silver 20 gauge half hard round wire and make a small simple loop on one end of each of them. Set them aside.
Step two: Cut five 1½ inch pieces or sterling silver wire and make a small simple loop on one end of each of them. Set them aside.
Step three: On a sterling silver 3-inch head pin (1) thread an 11/0 marbled hematite AB Toho, an olivine with white core roundelle and another hematite AB Toho. Thread on a wire from step one (A), twenty-five more mixed Tohos, another wire from step one (B) and three more mixed Tohos. Finish with a small simple loop.
Step four: On wire A thread two mixed Tohos, a wire from step one (C), two mixed Tohos, another wire from step one (D), seven mixed Tohos, another wire from step one (E) and seven mixed Tohos. Finish with a small simple loop.
Step five: On wire C thread two 11/0 white lined peridot lustered Tohos, a CRYSTALLIZED™ 4mm dark sapphire bicone, peridot Toho, CRYSTALLIZED™ 4mm lime bicone, the 6x8mm dark purple cz round column, two 11/0 marbled hematite AB Tohos, an olivine roundelle, hematite AB Toho, a 5x3.5mm blue ocean mix roundelle, peridot Toho, lime bicone, peridot Toho, the 6mm dark sapphire bicone and two peridot Tohos. Add two mixed Tohos to wire B and then make a small simple loop on the end of wire C and wrap it around wire B.
Step six: On wire D thread 23 mixed Tohos. To wire B add a wire from step 2 (F) and two mixed Tohos. Make a small simple loop on the end of wire D and wrap it around wire B.
Step seven: On wire E thread an 11/0 hematite AB Toho, lime bicone, olivine roundelle, the porcelain blue peacock feather disc, hematite AB Toho, CRYSTALLIZED™ 5.5mm violet simplicity and the CRYSTALLIZED™ 4mm faceted olivine bicone. To wire B add a wire from step 2 (G), three mixed Tohos, another wire from step 2 (H), three more mixed Tohos, and another wire from step 2 (I). Make a small simple loop on the end of wire E and wrap it around wire B.
Step eight: On wire B add three mixed Tohos, a wire from step 2 (J) and three more mixed Tohos. Finish with a small simple loop.
Step nine: On the other head pin (2) thread an 11/0 hematite AB Toho, ocean roundelle, and an 11/0 peridot Toho. Thread the head pin through the loop on wire A. Add 22 mixed Tohos. Thread the head pin through the loop on wire B. Add 7 mixed Tohos. Make sure the beaded length of this head pin is the same as the first head pin, adjust number of beads if necessary. Finish with a small simple loop.
Step ten: On wire F thread an ocean roundelle and an 11/0 peridot Toho. Finish with a small simple loop.
Step eleven: On wire G thread an 11/0 hematite Toho, olivine roundelle and a hematite Toho. Finish with a small simple loop.
Step twelve: On wire H thread an 11/0 peridot Toho, 4mm dark sapphire bicone and the CRYSTALLIZED™ 4mm peridot roundelle. Finish with a small simple loop.
Step thirteen: On wire I thread an 11/0 hematite AB Toho, ocean roundelle and lime bicone. Finish with a small simple loop.
Step fourteen: On wire J thread an 11/0 peridot Toho, the 7mm dark purple cz coin, and two more peridot Tohos. Finish with a small simple loop.
Step fifteen: Cut a three inch piece of wire and make a medium sized simple loop on one end. Bend the loop at a 90 degree angle. Thread the wire through the loop on the first head pin. Add two mixed Tohos, thread through wire F, three more Tohos, wire G, three Tohos, wire H, three Tohos, wire I, three Tohos, wire J, three Tohos and finally through the second head pin. Finish with a loop and bend it at a 90 degree angle to match the first loop.
Step sixteen: Cut a 3-inch piece of sterling silver rolo chain. Cut a 3 inch piece of wire. Attach it to the chain with a wrapped loop. Thread an 8/0 marbled lavender rose Toho bead, CRYSTALLIZED™ 5.5mm khaki simplicity, 7x9mm dark purple cz oval, lime bicone and matte Ceylon Toho onto the wire. Finish the wire by attaching it to the 6-inch piece of chain with a wrapped loop. Use a sterling silver open jump ring to attach one half of the sterling silver small diamond toggle clasp to the 6-inch section of chain.
Step seventeen: Repeat step 16, this time use an 8/0 matte Ceylon Toho, violet simplicity, 8mm olivine cz square cushion, ocean roundelle and another matte Ceylon Toho on the wire.
Step eighteen: Attach the chains to the loops on the pendent.
