Help raise autism awareness with this stylish bracelet design which blends colorful seed beads and brilliant silver puzzle piece accents. Advocates for autism awareness have adopted the puzzle piece to signify the complexity and mystery surrounding autism. Wear this "A Hope for Autism" bracelet yourself or make a thoughtful gift for a friend or loved one you know has been touched by autism.
Step one: Cut five 8-inch pieces of Soft Flex .014 fine clear beading wire in silver satin. Gather the wires together and clamp them together with a bead stopper.
Step two: Thread a 4mm TierraCast® antique silver-plated flower cross bar bead, over all five strands of wire. Next, thread 15 TOHO 11/0 round beads in color-lined yellow/crystal onto each strand and secure with a flower cross bar bead over all five strands. Repeat this pattern using TOHO 11/0 round beads in frosted transparent dark sapphire for the second section, TOHO 11/0 round beads in transparent aquamarine for the third section and TOHO 11/0 triangle beads in silver-lined ruby for the fourth section, ending with a flower cross bar. Clamp this end with a bead stopper and arrange all of the beads so that they sit tightly together.
Step three: Remove a bead stopper from one end and thread a sterling silver round bead over all five strands and cut the excess wire, leaving a 1/2-inch tail. Place a small dab of E6000 glue onto the ends, thread them into an end cap ring and crimp in place using a pair of chain nose pliers. Remove the other bead stopper and repeat this step on the other end. Allow time for the glue to dry.
Step four: Attach a sterling silver domed oval pendant with hope message onto one of the strands in the second section of the bracelet using a sterling silver open jump ring. Attach a sterling silver puzzle piece charm onto one of the strands in the third section using a jump ring.
Step five: Cut two chains containing four oval links from a 1-ft silver-plated textured oval link chain. Depending on your wrist size you may choose to use a different length of chain. Attach one chain to each end cap ring on the bracelet using an open jump ring. Attach a 13.1mm silver oval trigger clasp to the end of one chain with a jump ring and a sterling silver puzzle piece link to the second chain.
