Sterling Silver 0.5mm Beading Chain
Sterling silver 0.5mm beading chain is a beautiful choice with which to start a jewelry design. This is a somewhat flexible strand and is perfect for those designs that call for elegance with shine. The chain is sized to allow for beads that have a hole size of 0.6mm or more. The reflective quality of real silver really draws the eye toward your design. Silver chain goes with every outfit. We have many more unique chains that you can string along with this one! Sterling adds reflective appeal and a fashion forward look. We also have Swarovski Austrian crystal links in elegant round shapes and geometric squares in many colors, to link your chains together. You may also choose to mix this chain with a number of elements including silk ribbon, mixed gemstone and pearl strands, or even fibers for a fun effect and a fuller look. This sterling silver chain has a fine silver finish and an anti-tarnish treatment. We sell this lovely chain by the foot.

Beautiful!October 2, 2012
This was used to make a necklace and earrings. I love them and have received many compliments. I will definitely buy more! Well worth the money. I am not sure of the durability of the chain, and will be careful of it.

Too FragileJune 14, 2012
I do not recommend purchasing this beading chain. It is so fragile that it broke in 5 different places as I was working with it. I have been making jewelry for 15 years and know how to handle delicate items, but this chain just kept falling apart. Even the representative that I called to report it to said that she does not recommend it to anyone who is placing an order through her.

.5 mm Beading ChainDecember 14, 2011
I have used this beading chain on multiple necklaces and really like the style of it. The one draw back is if you kink the chain it is hard to recover from. For a delicate look, it is hard to beat.

If you haven't tried this chain you're missing out. Flexible and strong, you can't go wrong!
Really, this is great chain. I should have ordered more than 10 ft when it was on sale.

Difficult to seeJanuary 19, 2011
I am a little disappointed in this chain. I wanted a chain to make a bracelet with the 8mm silver beads but this is not going to happen with this chain.

Great workable chainDecember 14, 2010
I made necklaces and earrings from this chain. It worked so well in its ability of reasonable flexabillity and versitility in my design. It presents a delicate yet stable appearance. I used Swarovski Crystals and SS beads. Love this chain.

Pretty - but delicateDecember 5, 2010
I love the look of this chain! My only concern with it is that it tends to kink easily if you are working with longer pieces. I ordered six feet of this chain and think I will order it in smaller sections next time to help with the kinking issue. Makes very pretty necklaces!

Using 925 Silver Beading ChainOctober 10, 2010
.
I saw this item in Artbeads' products list and it looked interesting enough to buy a length to try.

Following Artbeads usual quick service, I examined the received chain to determine how best it could be used. Obviously it should work as any other beading material. Yes, it is flexible, yes, it looks great, but, it has a minimum radius for bending of about 15mm. Bending tighter than this will damage the chain, so keep this in mind, not only for your design, but also how the end-customer might handle it. It also has a pull strength limitation. However, this is beyond that necessary to survive normal usage.

One nice application is to use 15-20mm of this chain to hang a focal drop or number of drops connected as "glued-into-blind-hole" method. This chain allows the drop to swing very nicely, certainly as good or if not better than any other beading material, and gives an attractive look to the design.

Overall, this chain is a very easy to use, pretty, and cost effective material for your designs. I liked it very much and plan to make some of my future designs around it.

Very quick & easy to make designs for necklaces &September 21, 2010
This beading chain is something I would not want to be without. I have made many sets of necklace & earrings. I used Swarovski crystals for five bridesmaids & the wedding is over , none of them broke & they were delighted with them. Today I had a future bride come to me,(after seeing the five) & she chose her colors for her three bridesmaids & wanted the same beading chain. She also wanted me to create a double strand with Swarovski crystals for her own. I must say after reading some of the reviews I was somewhat skeptical, especially for a wedding but used them anyway as I had done many before & had no problems with breakage. I do not believe that Art Beads would put out an item that is inferior. They maybe should start to give a choice of 6 & 7mm ones. Art Beads is the best.

Beautiful,but easily brokenAugust 26, 2010
Artbeads was kind enough to send me a 30 foot length. I tested it and broke in my hands. I used about 2-3 lbs of weight.
I was going to make a multi-strand necklace.
But I bought the wrong chain design.
This chain will break with little to no effort.
Great looking chain.

I didn't realize there is such a difference in the .5 and the .6 beading chain. The .5 was not stable enough as the chain broke while I was working with it. Some of the necklaces I made were alright, but then I sold one and the woman who purchased it returned it as it broke before she even wore it.

Beautiful but easily brokenAugust 12, 2010
This beading chain was just what I was looking for to "float" Swarovski roundelles on. Unfortunately, the chain on the three necklaces that I made all broke - not where there was a kink or where it was joined to a crimp end.

Too delicateJuly 30, 2010
I finished an illusion design with this chain and when I went to try it on, it snapped in half; not even near a crimp bead. Way too delicate for illusion designs and I would be nervous to even use it to float a bead on after I saw how easily it broke.

Wonderful ChainMay 27, 2010
I love, love, love this chain! Did I mention that I simply love it! It creates stunning "floating" necklaces using Swarvoski crystal and quartz. I did have a learning curve using this chain - DO NOT get too close to the chain with your nippers! YES you can splice it together. I'd love to send a photo of the beautiful piece but unfortunately I had ANOTHER learning experience - DON'T WEAR A LONG NECKLACE WHILE GARDENING!!! I didn't realize that the piece got caught on the edge of my container and when I stood up it broke.

This made a gorgeous necklaceMay 8, 2010
I made a necklace and attached czech roundels with silve daisy spacers between the roundels, this turned out better than I expected. I also made a pair of earrings with the roundels and daisy spacers to match the necklace.

Delicate RainJune 25, 2009
This is a great chain to use for smaller beads because it has such a small diameter. My only issue is that because of the size anything greater than 10mm width bead looks oversized for the chain. Try using multiple strands without beads to get a flowing ripple effect of chain.

beautifulAugust 16, 2008
This is really beautiful to work with. I use it as a great alternative to wire (which tends to kink). The necklaces I have made with this have been a big hit with my customers.
